Pepino kalimba – a lamellaphone, a plucked idiophone with a diatonic note arrangement. The sound is produced by the vibration amplitude of the metal tines you play, while the soundboard and body amplify the resonance. It is equipped with a special protective cover to shield the mechanics from damage.
This kalimba (mbira) has eight notes with a symmetrical layout, a soundboard made from a single piece of spruce, and tines and components made of stainless steel. The bottom of the body is made of thick biopolymer in the shape of a cocoon with a resonator. The instrument is quite compact, fits in the palm of your hand, and thanks to its round shape, it is comfortable to play with both hands.
It is easy to transport without worrying about losing tuning or getting damaged, as the mbira is equipped with a protective cap that fastens to the top of the soundboard.
Kit includes: a wooden stand for kalimba.
