Cave Kalimba – a lamellaphone, a plucked idiophone made of natural wood. It has a diatonic scale spanning several octaves. The sound is produced by the vibration amplitude of the metal tines, while the soundboard and body amplify the resonance. It has seventeen notes arranged symmetrically. The kalimba is made entirely of solid spruce, the bridge stand is ash, and the tines are stainless steel. In addition to the front resonator on the top soundboard, there are two more resonators on the bottom soundboard under the middle fingers — for performing a “wah” effect. The kalimba is equipped with a beech soundpost to synchronize the resonance of the soundboards.
The kit includes a wooden stand (sectional).
