Kazarka Telinka – a folk wind instrument with whistle tuning, similar to an elongated flute but without fingering holes, having only two open ends (mouthpiece and bell). The primary diatonic scale (harmonic major) can be extended to many pitches by closing the lower opening (bell) — depending on the musician’s skill.
The telinka (tylinka, telenka) consists of two metal tubes that disassemble for transport or key changes. The two-body system allows playing a different scale by replacing only the lower part (C, D, F, G).
The whistle has sound tuning. The first body of the instrument acts as the voice hole tooth — it can be shifted to change the sound of the telinka.
The instrument does not require great skill when using only the basic notes of the scale. Octaves change by overblowing the whistle — the harder you blow, the higher it sounds. The timbre is as rich as that of a Floyara — with rich overtones and resonant vibrations.
